Welcome! My name is Abby Watts, and I graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree and went on to receive a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I am from Pintlala, Alabama and come from a close-knit family. My parents, Donna and David Watts, have set a strong example for me, my older sister, Ivy, and my twin brother, John David. I am engaged to my high school sweetheart, Taylor Campbell, and together we are excited to begin the next chapter in life.
In my free time, I enjoy long walks, visiting Lake Martin, and spending time with family and friends. I am passionate about helping children develop the skills they need to thrive by making therapy engaging, effective, and empowering.
What is occupational therapy?
Pediatric occupational therapy can address fine motor skills, gross motor skills, academic performance, motor planning, visual motor and perceptual skills, dyslexia, school based skills such as handwriting, social and emotional communication, executive functioning, sensory processing, and other challenges that may affect a child’s ability to fully engage in activities of daily living.
Location
Watts Therapy is a travel therapy company. We meet your child at their school for traditional services. Providing resources in the school means your child will not spend extensive time missing school due to traveling to receive services and you will not have to schedule around work or other obligations. Watts Therapy will collaborate with teachers on the best time to schedule services during the school day. The goal is to offer accessible services in the school through a collaborative approach with teachers to ensure a transfer of learning.
Overview of Services
An evaluation will be completed at the first session in order to gather information through a formal assessment. The evaluation typically takes around an hour to complete. Treatment sessions range from thirty to forty five minutes. A re-evaluation is optional at the one-year mark or at any time during services in order to check on progress with standardized testing.
Existing clients can access their account by clicking the "Client Portal" button below.
Payment and Reimbursement
A Good Faith Estimate will be sent before starting services in order to ensure understanding of potential charges. The Good Faith Estimate is not a bill. Payment will be collected at the beginning of each session and is due at the time of service. We accept card or cash. The charge will appear on your bank/credit card statement and will be collected through Stripe via Simple Practice for services rendered. When completing the intake paperwork, Simple Practice will allow you to store your card on file in order for Watts Therapy to charge at the time of service. If you prefer to pay in cash, please understand the cash is due at the time of service.
Watts Therapy is a private pay company meaning we do not accept insurance and are not a Medicaid provider. If you are wanting to seek insurance reimbursement, we will provide an out of network checklist as a guideline to ask questions about your insurance policy and a superbill to submit for reimbursement. A superbill is a medical receipt that will be generated every month detailing payments, codes, and specific medical information needed for insurance reimbursement. Health plans vary and we cannot guarantee full reimbursement.
